Information & FAQ

Where is Your Tempo Studio?

YTS opened a permanent studio space in June of 2023 in Leominster, MA. In person and asynchronous lessons are available out of this location. A map can be found on the Contact & Social Media page.

Is my child ready to learn piano?

The first thing to consider: is your child asking for lessons? If yes, then great! And if they haven't: well, sometimes it takes being placed in a situation for the child to realize they like doing the activity. Any resistance to music lessons should be temporary. A good teacher will be able to monitor progress and participation as well as healthily develop the student's relationship with music.

The piano is a fantastic instrument to learn because of its low barrier to entry. A beginner pianist can show more progress in the first couple lessons than most other instruments. It's encouraging, versatile and very popular!

What should I expect for my first piano lesson?

The first lesson at YTS is a free assessment lesson to discuss motivation and goals, set expectations for taking music lessons, and decide the schedule/length of lesson. This is a zero commitment, get-to-know-me time. You do not need to bring anything to this meeting.

What about adult beginners?

Adults make great learners and often can bring unique experiences to each lesson which quickly develop connections between music and their own life. We strive at providing lessons structured for anyone's dexterity, abilities, and/or physical limitations. Any student of any age, will make progress with the studio as long as they're willing to try!
